This is a picture of my cat George, who passed away from cardiac cachexia in 2011. I adopted him when I was working at the CSU emergency reception desk. He came in after being hit by a car with a broken leg. His owners couldn’t afford to take care of him and were going to euthanize. As soon as I looked at him I knew I had to help, so I adopted him. I worked 6 days a week for a month and saved all my money to pay for his surgery, which was a success. He became the best cat I’ve had, super loving and with a fun personality. He helped raise my other cats and was always ready to eat. He developed heart disease in 2011 and despite all of our efforts, passed away that June. We miss him every day.
