When Sammy Joe became sick due to an unknown liver toxin, her family got in touch with Max’s Helping Paws and shared their story. “We have just come out of bankruptcy and are trying to hold onto our home with covid and some other things. We have struggled month to month and are currently trying to keep our mortgage and bills current. My husband is a hard worker and at 67 is still out doing construction which is a blessing. Sammy is his partner and goes everywhere with him, his companion his everything, and we can’t loose her. We are trying to do everything we can to hang onto her however this was not expected and we have no savings or credit cards to help. This is devastating and I thank god it’s not one of our children or grandchildren, but Sammy Joe is our family member.”
“My husband and I went to visit her and he was in tears and was unable to speak to the Dr, it’s heartbreaking. With covid we have been living off my income plus SSN only and it’s been difficult and scary My husband does EVERYTHING for everyone with a smile on his face. He never asks for anything in return. He is an honest, hard working man who loves his family. This is his 2nd lab we lost Max yers ago had to put him down we couldn’t afford the surgery he needed at the time. I don’t want to see him go through such a thing again, especially because Sammy is so young. She has been titled with her JR Hunter, Senior Hunter and is in processing of getting her companion certificate. Please help us help her . She is my husband’s BEST FRIEND. Understand we don’t go out, or take vacations – we have each other and our animals . Anything you can do would be a blessing. Thank you for just taking us into consideration.” With hopeful hearts for Sammy Joe’s full recovery, Max’s was able to offer the financial support needed for this family to make sure Sammy Joe received the treatment needed.
Thanks to the expert medical care and love at home, Sammy Joe is able to remain at her owner’s side every day as a constant companion once again.
