If we had the means to help them, we would, unfortunately we are struggling to keep our employees paid.
— Michelle, the parents' employer —
Betty Boop is an 8-year old rescue dog and lives a successful life with parents who normally have no trouble paying debts or caring for their pet. We’re told that normally you can find Betty dressed in a dress and happily playing with her siblings and walking with her mama. When Betty, a normally pretty rambunctious dog ingested something she shouldn’t have, she ended up with sharp – and very dangerous – bone shards in her intestines. Without going into emergency surgery to remove the shards, there was little likelihood Betty could possibly survive. Betty’s parents are long time employees of the same company, and their employer, feeling so guilty about having to have drastically reduce both their paychecks because of COVID-19, wrote us a touching letter, asking us to help. She was in critical condition. Max’s very quickly reviewed the application and assisted with treatment!
Betty did incredibly well during surgery and started her recovery almost immediately!
