Diagnosing The Trouble

July is my buddy who can detect if I am going into a seizure.

— Anna —

They can speak, they can detect emergency medical situations, they can even smile at us sometimes! However, one thing our furry companions are often unable to do, is tell us where they are hurting and what the trouble is when they are unwell. For Anna, when she realized her beloved service companion July seemed to be less than him normal high energy self, she immediately took action by reaching out to Max’s Helping Paws.

Living on disability and a fixed income, Anna knew July needed to see a veterinarian but did not have the financial means to make this happen. As Anna shared, “July is my buddy who can detect if I am going into a seizure. Now it is my turn to take care of him.” Anna needed assistance with the first steps in determining what was happening with July and applied to Max’s Helping Paws.

Thankfully, with support from Max’s Helping Paws, July was able to be seen at The Pet Specialists of Monterey. A tumor was discovered on July’s spleen which would need to be removed. Thanks to Anna’s attention to her companion, she noticed the non-verbal ques July was sending and was able to get the tumor removed before any major complications could develop. It is a responsible and attentive owner who is able to ‘hear’ what our companion is telling us, even when they are unable to give us exact details. Thank you Anna for paying such close attention to July and getting him the assistance he needed right away!
