With a baby on the way, this unexpected expense is more than we can handle. We didn’t expect anything like this to ever happen.
— Strenck Family —
This military family of 2 humans and 2 canines is about to get a little larger, as they are expecting a baby on the way soon!
At the end of a challenging year, this family was celebrating the holidays and getting ready for their newest family member when the unexpected happened to their beloved German Shephard/Husky named Lucy. They described, “While being dog-sat, she ran out the door and was hit by a car. She has injury’s to her back legs and we want to make sure she does not have internal injuries. We have been able to take care of stitching up her back leg injuries but are waiting for results on whether or not she has internal injuries.”
Sometimes, no matter what steps we take to ensure our companion’s care, accidents can happen when we least expect it. The Strenck Family took immediate steps to get Lucy treatment, and as the cost of treatments began to compile, they reached out to Max’s Helping Paws for any assistance we could provide. They shared their situation, “We currently have a baby on the way and have not been totally untouched by Covid. With preparing for the baby, we did not expect this to happen. We love our dog and are willing to pay whatever is needed but it would keep us from falling into intense debt if we had some assistance with this.”
It was with support from our community donors and supporting organizations that Max’s was able to extend the assistance needed to keep this family from sinking into a debt beyond what they could handle while expecting a baby. We look forward to hearing about Lucy’s full recovery soon, as well as send a huge congratulations to the Strenck family on their upcoming addition of joy!
