Figuring Out The Problem For Precious

Precious has taught each one of us what is is to love unconditionally, and forgive despite her past.

— Monica —

Normally foot loose and fancy free, enjoying the fresh air of car rides, Precious makes the ideal traveling companion for her owner Monica – even if that’s just rides to the grocery store these days. Since Monica found Precious 7 years ago as a stray, she has been an integral part of their family. Our companions help us grow and teach us so much! For Monica and her family, they shared that the biggest lesson has been that, “Precious has taught each one of us what it is to love unconditionally, and forgive despite her past.”

In late December, Precious began showing signs of fever, not eating and excess panting in distress. The family knew that Precious needed to see a veterinarian to receive care but did not have the means to be able to assist her. Monica shared her hope for assistance the best, “We love Precious. She was surrendered to us because they knew we would take care of her and provide her a humble yet loving home. She is our family. This is the holidays and this situation has caught us off guard. Nonetheless, we still want Precious to get the care she needs and deserves.  Our home truly feels lonely without her and we were reaching out for help to bring her home.”

This beautiful family member needed assistance and Max’s Helping Paws was able to extend the means needed for the treatment thanks to our community donors and partners. Precious had an overnight stay at the hospital where she received IV fluids, an x-ray and medications to help stabilize her condition. It was thanks to the attentiveness of Monica and her family acting so quickly that Precious was able to get the help she needed. After the treatment, Precious was able to return home to her family where she was pampered and loved back to health. She will once again be eagerly riding with the family on outings and sharing the joy of life with all.
