Lovable Addi

Addi is my love and I am unable to pay for the help she needs, anything you can do would be great.

— Erica —

When a companion is with you from the time they are a puppy, until they enter their Golden Years, they are no longer ‘just’ a pet, but a family member. Erica and Addi have been together through thick and thin and as Addi enters her later years, Erica has been there to love her along the way.

In mid-January, when Addi began displaying signs of urinary trouble and becoming lethargic, Erica immediately took action and began reaching out to Max’s Helping Paws to ensure Addi had the help she needed. Living on a fixed income and supporting them both, Erica shared that she had been able to pay for the initial visit and diagnostics for Addi, but the needed treatment was going to be beyond what she had available financially. While able to track there was a urinary obstruction and an enlarged bladder, more tests and observation were needed to determine what was causing the trouble to Addi.

Thanks to donors within the community and our partner organizations, Max’s was able to extend the assistance for Addi to have the overnight hospital stay and get the treatment needed. Due to Erica’s quick action in taking Addi to the vet, as well as reaching out to Max’s, Addi was able to receive the medicaions, fluids and treatment which allowed her to return happy, healthy and home to Erica once again.
