Ranger Danger!

I’m currently on short term disability due to a pregnancy loss and my husband works 2 days a weeks and goes to school the remainder of the week.

— Ramier Family —

3 year old Ranger is an important part of the Ramier Family. Having adopted Ranger as a pup, this military family has been blessed by this family member ever since they brought him home. What the family didn’t realize when they brought him home, was that Ranger suffered from a genetic heart murmur and arthritis, even at such a young age. The family has been attentive to his needs throughout his whole life and are on constant guard to ensure Ranger is safe and healthy.

In early January, the Ramier’s came to Max’s Helping Paws when his medical bills began to exceed what they were able to afford. They share their story the best, “When we adopted Ranger we were aware he had a grade II-III heart murmur, valley fever and arthritis. Currently he is now in heart failure with an enlarged heart and fluid build up in his abdomen. He is currently at Pet Specialist of Monterey. I took him to Peace of Mine yesterday and after they ran test they encouraged I take him to emergency. He’ll be at PSM for 1-2 nights for IV lasix and a paracentesis as well as oxygen to help him breath. They are quoting his treatment to be anywhere from $2,100-$4,000. I just spent $500 at Animal health center due to urinary issues back in November and am waiting on the bill from peace of mind for the work they did yesterday. I’m currently on short term disability due to a pregnancy loss and my husband works 2 days a weeks and goes to school the remainder of the week (online courses). Right now we do it have any extra finances, but I want to do everything I can to take care of Ranger and be able to bring him home after this and manage him his best condition with medication. We adopted a Ranger knowing he had medical issues and hopes we could be the ones to give him the love and attention he needed with his special needs. I’m a nurse myself so I’m glad I caught the signs of fluid build up when I did. Any amount of financial assistance would be greatly appreciated.”

Rest in Peace Ranger. See Ranger’s Video
