We love our new family member and want her to get well.
— Poma Family —
Like many families beginning the next phase of their adventure, this family recently expanded! With a one month old baby at home, they wanted their child to share the experience of a family companion, and so they searched for a fur baby to join their home. Their hearts were opened when they met Rylee, a 9 year old Birch Poo who was looking for a new home. This little ball of fluff happily joined their family and the 4 Pomas felt content and complete.
An unexpected turn occurred when Rylee became very lethargic and began not eating with her usual gusto. The Pomas quickly took Rylee to VCA All Pets, where it was discovered she was suffering from a tooth abscess and some other conditions which were causing her pain. Knowing they wanted to do their best for their newest family member, but realizing the cost of procedures was going to be high, the Pomas reached out to Max’s Helping Paws for assistance. They shared, “There have been several unexpected bills which came up, and my husband has lost work due to COVID. We love our new family member and want her to get well.”
After reviewing the case and seeing the clear need for assistance, Max’s Helping Paws was able to provide financial assistance for the family so that Rylee could receive the treatment she needed. Thanks to supporters such as the Doris Day Foundation, Max’s is able to support pets and their families in their times of need. Without this assistance, the family would have had to face some very difficult decisions concerning Rylee. Fortunately, this is yet another family who was able to continue providing responsible pet care during a time of need thanks to Max’s Helping Paws.
