When she started having less appetite and lethargy a week ago, our family was highly concerned. We thought she had ingested some wood chips and was experiencing stomach problems from this. When we took her to the vet, they told us she would need surgery to remove the chips from her tummy.”

When the Daniels family took her to the Pet Specialists of Monterey, Duesy was suffering and her family knew that without immediate removal of this foreign material, Duesy absolutely would not survive. The family’s work hours have been drastically reduced due to COVID-19, as they work in Monterey hospitality,  and had no available credit to help their family’s companion.

Thanks to the financial assistance from Max’s Helping Paws, hospitalization, testing, and removal of the chips were the first steps taken in a return to health for Duesy. Duesy did have some underlying issues that were brought to the surface by this situation, and has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Her mom is so grateful for the extra time she had with her beloved girl. “I would like to say again that I am very grateful for Max’s Helping Paws help for my sweet little doggy”
