Reality can hit hard when your child gets hurt, and that’s how the Vito’s family felt when their healthy, happy, 18 week old shih-tzu jumped off the ottoman and fractured his femur. When a growing puppy has an injury like this, there is always a concern that without surgery, the leg will not heal properly. Not to mention–ouch!
Vito was transferred from his family veterinarian at Romie Lane, to Pet Specialists of Monterey to undergo surgery. This event was unexpected, scary for his pet parents and can be costly. Max’s Helping Paws was able to assist Vito and his family with the burdening costs of surgery and recovery. We are happy to say Vito is almost back to normal, and in a just a couple weeks, will be able to resume normal puppy playing. Way to go Vito!
