Can You Hear Me Now?

Chico is more than a pet to us he is like another child, my son’s only friend (single child).

— Camancho Family —

10  year old Mia has been with Hilda and her family ever since she was a frisky pup! A family of 4 humans and 2 companion pets, Mia has had a wonderful life in her forever home. As happens to adults and pets alike, as aging occurs, body’s don’t recover quite as easily as they used to.

In February, when Mia began tilting her head and trying to rub her head against couches and her owner, the family recognized there was something amiss. While the family is extremely responsible, their income was drastically reduced the past year due to COVID-19. Hilda recognized her baby Mia was in need of a veterinary appointment, but the family did not have the means to get her the help she needed. Fortunately, they were referred to Max’s Helping Paws for our Diagnostic Program. This program offers a financial lifeline to pet companions and their families in times such as these when diagnostics are needed to determine what is causing the painful situation.

With this assistance, Mia was able to be seen at VCA All Pets, where it was determined she had an ear infection that was causing her pain. Thanks to the family acting quickly, Mia was able to have her ear treated before it caused any lasting damage or excessive cost. We are so grateful for our donors who make it possible to extend this financial lifeline, as well as family’s such as Mia’s who do what they need to in order to ensure their family member stays healthy, happy and home with them.
