Earlier this year, while out and about with his family, Casper the Pitbull ran a little too fast one day and tore his ACL. The Vargas family was distraught over Casper’s injury. Casper had been with the family since he was 5 months old, and 5 years later was indeed truly a family member. Responding quickly to Casper’s pain, the Vargas’ took him to the Pet Specialists of Monterey for prompt care. Also being responsible pet owners who were willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the health of their beloved dog, they reached out to Max’s Helping Paws. They were concerned about being able to provide the financial means for the repair of Casper’s ACL.
Mr. Vargas reached out multiple times as he completed his application, as he wanted to make sure he did everything perfectly so Casper could have the help he needed. With the assistance of Max’s and the skill of our veterinary partners, Casper was able to receive the surgery needed. Since April, Casper has been recovering and his ability for movement has been increasing. The next steps for Casper and the Vargas family will be post operative care. The Vargas familiy realizes that the surgery was the first step in a long healing process for Casper and they have the loving patience to help Casper continue his recovery.
Checking in with the Vargas Family, they shared the outcome of Casper’s recovery with us: “We are doing great! Casper is looking and feeling great.He is walking fine and is very happy.Thank you for asking…and thanks to you and everyone at Maxs paws for all the support, it is greatly appreciated.I will take a picture of us out on a walk as soon as possible.”
