I just don’t have the money to take Dalia to the vet, her breathing is scary and I want her to be able to breath easier.
— Iriam —
Iriam and Dalia have been the best of friends for 7 years, when a friend gifted this spot of sunshine to Iriam. Needing to stay home a bit more than expected due to a disability, these two have become each other’s lifeline to hope over the past years.
Being an attentive owner, Iriam noticed when Dalia’s breathing began shifting, seeming more shallow and troubled. As a responsible owner, she kept a very close eye on Dalia and reached out to Max’s Helping Paws when the breathing continued to be labored. She shared that due to being on a fixed income through disability, she was barely able to make sure the two of them had a place to live and food. She wanted what was best for Dalia and reached out to acquire funding for a veterinary visit to determine what was causing the difficulty breathing.
Thanks to our Diagnostic program, we were able to extend assistance to Iriam and Dalia, allowing the opportunity for a veterinary visit and initial exam to determine what was causing the trouble. It was with gratitude that the cause was going to be manageable with the use of medication, and Dalia was able to return home with Iriam where they were both able to have a little peace that Dalia’s breathing would be regulated back to normal.
