I was told on a couple Facebook groups, that you guys could possibly help my girl out. Thank you for being here!

An owner’s worst fear came true when, not only did her 2 dogs manage to escape her yard somehow, but one of her pups was hit by a car while they were out. Yesenia was devastated and didn’t know where to turn, as she was experiencing job loss due to COVID and some very challenging financial difficulties…but she knew she needed to save her beautiful Zoey. She shares her story below:
“Zoey and her brother, Rowie, managed to get out and wander off yesterday. Unfortunately, Zoey was involved in what seems like a hit and run. She has been to two different hospitals since yesterday, is at her 3rd one now, as I have hopes to get a better chance on collecting funds for the surgery and treatment she needs for her broken leg. The emergency hospital in Monterey she was at, gave me a quote of over $7,000. VCA gave me a different quote of anywhere from $3800-4300 roughly. I cannot afford her surgery. I’m very limited to the help I can get and I was told on a couple Facebook groups, that you guys could possibly help my girl out. They’re needing to do X-rays on her chest and hip area as well, to make sure nothing else is wrong in those areas. I declined them doing that in Monterey, due to how much more it’d be on top of what I had already paid for her to be able to stay the night and get the IV and pain meds she needed. I paid at the first hospital she was first taken into for the X-rays and the pain meds given to her there. I pretty much drafted my savings and borrowed some to cover Zoey’s expenses so far. I’m very much hoping I can get some help with her medical bills to get her the proper and needed procedures.“
No matter how diligent we are, sometimes these types of scary situations happen well outside of our control. As a qualified applicant, Max’s was able to extend the assistance needed for Zoey to receive the x-rays and treatment she needed after this terrifying experience. Thanks to our compassionate community at Max’s, Zoey has indeed returned home once again and has been slowly recovering to her full health.
