Some Relief For Fluffy

I have been unemployed since the pandemic started and my wife has been the only one working. Fluffy is like family and we want him to have the surgery he needs.

— Nicacio —

For Nicacio and his wife, when they adopted Fluffy 11 years ago, he became like a child to them. This household of 3 has been full of joy ever since this beautiful poodle mix pup came into their lives. When the pandemic began, Nicacio became unemployed and his wife has been the sole provider of the home since that time. With things stretched tight, the last thing they expected was their beloved Fluffy to be diagnosed with painful hernias.

Nicacio shared with us there were 2 hernias on Fluffy needing to be removed so he could be comfortable and healthy. The family shard their love of Fluffy, and “he is like family to us. We want him to have the best possible treatment. We know he is suffering and this would help him feel better. We would be grateful for any help you can give.”

The family had already spent a good portion of money for the diagnostics to determine what was causing Fluffy’s discomfort, and they were able to contribute $500 more toward the surgery, but they still needed assistance. At Max’s Helping Paws, we believe money should never be the reason a companion does not receive treatment. After accepting Nicacio’s application for assistance, we were able to extend the additional funds Fluffy needed to have his hernias removed. We also realize the financial hardship COVID-19 has caused in families throughout the nation, including Monterey County, and our Chestnut’s Fund was able to provide the assistance for Fluffy to return healthy, happy and home to his human ‘mom and dad’.
