Alvin’s Not A Chipmunk!

We are forever grateful!

— Flores Family —

What’s small, brown and super cute? Chipmunks yes…but so is Alvin the terrier mix! Alvin was adopted 8 years ago by the Flores family and has become a key companion in this household. As a family of 4, Alvin has consistently been their biggest supporter in life! This year has been one of adjustments for the family, and Alvin has been a steady source of reassurance for them all.

In October, the Flores’ noticed a mass forming near Alvin’s hind quarters. Being responsible pet owners, they took Alvin to Los Coches Animal Hospital to determine what was causing the mass and if treatment was needed. After x-rays and diagnostics, it was determined the best steps of treatment would be surgery to remove the mass. With a slight heart murmur, Alvin also needed some additional testing to determine if he was a candidate for the needed surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of these items was becoming an overwhelming prospect for the Flores’ during a year of hardships.

Determined to get Alvin the care needed, the family reached out to Max’s Helping Paws for financial assistance. They shared, “We want to help our Alvin get the necessary surgery he needs to remove the mass but it has been financially difficult year for us.” Max’s Helping Paws understands there are times in our lives when financial hardships are beyond our control, and that is where we try to step in to fill the gap when a companion pet is in need of treatment. Thanks to the support of our donors, Max’s was able to provide assistance for Alvin both towards his diagnostic screenings as well as the surgery.

It is with happy hearts we are able to share a follow up report from the Flores family, “Wanted to write and say how grateful we are for your help and that of Peace of Mind Dog Rescue for your contribution towards surgery that our doggie Alvin needed. His surgery was on the 17th and we are happy to report that it all went well and he is recovering. He is so much better now and it makes us all happy to see him back to his normal self. We are forever grateful!”

Glad you are home safe and well with your family again Alvin!
