Brinkley Moore has a distinguished name for a 1 year old Labrador puppy, and has lived up to that name well so far! In his short time with the Moore family, he has quickly filled their military home with puppy wags and playfulness. When Brinkley began experiencing liver problems, the Moore family was quick to respond and began obtaining treatment right away. Even though they were recently relocated to the Monterey area, they sought out a veterinarian as soon as Brinkley began having troubles. As they worked with the veterinarian, it became clear Brinkley had a condition that was going to require continued treatment. As hearts stretched and finances becoming tighter with the care, the Moore’s reached out to Max’s Helping Paws for financial assistance. They shared, “Brinkley is currently experiencing unusual liver symptoms and he is running a fever. We are a military family that just drove across the country and moved in about a week ago. We still don’t have any of our belongings and are unsure as to how he got sick due to the nature of our move. He is lethargic and was vomiting with stomach problems upon admittance to the animal hospital.”
We are applying for assistance as we just paid for our move out of our own pocket, upwards of $8,000, and since we still do not have our belongings, have had to make purchases to help us get by in the meantime. We’ve already paid $3,000 to the vet for this urgent care and are quickly running out of funds.” With a puppy’s health and life still in the balance, Max’s Helping Paws was able to provide the assistance needed to ensure Brinkley continued on his path of healing.
