It’s been hard to stay afloat and not give up for my little family.

When a neighbor’s dog had puppies almost 8 years ago, the Castro family felt love at first sight for this beautiful pit bull. Since that time, Cali has been an inseparable part of this family, sharing in family picnics, holidays and the every day life of the Castro family.
As a family member of the Castro family, when Cali got diagnosed with cancer, everyone felt concern. With resolve and heartfelt resiliency, the Castro’s reached out to Max’s Helping Paws. “My dog has cancer. I am applying for assistance because I am a single mom of two with my husband deported. It’s been hard to stay afloat and not let this depression bring me down and continue to fight and not give up for my little family.”
Cali has not only been a pet, but has been a companion and family member to this resilient family. With Max’s Helping Paws financial support, Cali was able to get the medications needed to take the next steps forward in her treatment. Since that time, she is reported to be have an increased appetite and a full return to health is in her future.
