Carson’s Catastrophe

Carson is the best loving family dog!

— Lisa —

While chicken wings may be a delicious treat to eat during a football game for humans…Carson the Lab mix soon discovered they are not meant for dog tummies. After indulging in 4 chicken wings not meant for him, Carson began experiencing a high fever, lethargy and decreased appetite. His family of 6 reached out to Max’s Helping Paws: “My husband is currently laid off due to Covid 19 pandemic. In addition, I am a teacher entering into summer months where I receive less pay. So, my family of 6 is being supported by one income right now. I would greatly appreciate any help this organization could offer us. Carson is the best loving family dog!”

Knowing this 10 year old dog was a family member, Max’s Helping Paws was able to provide the financial assistance needed for Carson to get the diagnostic testing and treatment needed such as IVs, injections and an overnight stay for observation. After a little R&R with veterinary care, Carson was able to return home to his family healthy again and knowing a little better than to eat chicken wings again!

As we follow up with clients, we were delighted to hear from Lisa that Carson is at home and back to being her son’s faithful companion once again.

“The surgery kept this boy with his best bud.”
