Marissa was caught off guard when her 6 year old Shih Tzu, Koko, began to vomit, have stomach troubles and became extremely lethargic. She immediately took Koko to the Pet Specialists of Monterey for diagnostics testing in order to save her precious pup.
Koko has been an inspiration for Marissa not only as a pet, but as a companion to her for the past 6 years. Learning that Koko would need to undergo xrays and other diagnostics was not something Marissa had counted on. While prepared financially to support Koko, the testing was going to be more than Marissa realized. Marissa reached out to Max’s Helping Paws in order to provide the additional cost of the diagnostics which were needed. Once Koko was able to receive the treatments needed thanks in part to Max’s, Marissa gratefully brought Koko home to heal. While it was still unknown what caused the upset for Koko, Marissa now has peace of mind that Koko is on a full path to recovery.
