The World is Rosie Again

She’s our perfect pet, we want to see her healthy again.

— Virginia —

With a surprise and a hug, Virginia’s daughter presented her with a wiggling and joyful Cockapoo 7 years ago. This joyful pup named Rosie has maintained her playful spirit as she has bonded with her owner Virginia as the years have passed.

Early in July, 2020, Virginia was concerned to find Rosie was experiencing signs of distress and took her to Banfield first for diagnostics. Once there, an obstruction was found to be causing the troubles for Rosie and surgery would be needed. After spending over $1,000 on the diagnostics, Virginia was faced with the heart wrenching possibility of having to euthanize her beloved Rosie if surgery could not be performed. With the only barrier to this surgery being financial, Virginia reached out for help.

Max’s Helping Paws, Peace of Mind & BirchBark all joined forces on this one to help Virginia, as there was simply no way for her to afford what needed to be done – even with the discount provided by VCA All Pets, where she took Rosie for surgery early the next morning.

Thanks to a brilliant collaboration between local animal welfare nonprofits,  and the expert team at the VCA, Rosie’s story had a welcome, but unexpected ending. Virginia told us, “Good news Rosie came through her surgery and everything is good the doctor said there was no obstruction there was no foreign object somehow she has scar tissue where we spayed her and she thinks that that might have been involved in the blockage so they didn’t have to open her stomach… I’m so glad bless you and everybody that came to our rescue we can’t thank you all enough there’s a place in heaven for all of you. Much love Virginia Valdez and Rosie🥰”
