Tiny Tabby’s Paw

Quiddy is not our pet, she is a family member.

— Benny —

Being attentive to their 9 month old tabby cat named Quiddy, the Gonzales family noticed one morning that something was off with Quiddy’s right front paw. Normally a playful and frisky kitty, Quiddy was now guarding her foot and seemed as if she was in pain.

The family reached out the Max’s Helping Paws and shared their concerns as well as request for assistance: “Quiddy is hurt on her front right paw. She can’t walk on it, she hasn’t been eating as much as she usually does. Also seems to be sleeping a lot more. We are applying for assistance because my husband is on SSI disability and I’m currently employed but no work because of the virus. I also have a small retirement each month that helps, but we are barely making it right now. To see her hurt makes it hard for us emotionally. When going through two family deaths and one family member having brain hemorrhaging but recovering from it. It was last thing we could handle. We love Quiddy very much. Especially when we are trying to cope with what is dealt to us. She brightens our day….everyday. When Quiddy is happy you could tell, she’ll lie down in front of you and just CHILL!!!! There’s days when we come home, she’ll stand be the door and meow until we let her out for awhile. When it’s time to come in, she’ll stand there outside looking at us like if she is letting us know she will go in when she wants to. Quiddy and Benny are very close. Benny would tell her ” mama you’re so gorgeous.”

“She would rub against his leg or lie down in front of him. But since her injury, she hasn’t been happy. We could tell that she is in pain. Having Quiddy around makes us happy to have her. Can you please help us? We never ask for any help from anyone, we do with what we have. but in Quiddy’s case we have no way of helping her.”

While the financial assistance offered through Max’s Helping Paws and the VCA All Pets allowed Quiddy to receive the treatment needed, it was truly the love of her family that has allowed her to recover.
