He’s my best friend.
While this sweet Jack Russel Terrier named Pinko may not have a lot in common with the game show Plunko, one thing they have in common is fun! When Roman brought Pinko into his world 7 years ago, this ball of energy completed their little family. Whether playing on the beach or enjoying time at home, these two have become inseperable companions of support and love for each other.
In early December, their normal routine was interrupted when Pinko began having unexpected seizures. Full of fear and concern for his companion, Roman rushed Pinko to The Pet Specialists of Monterey for care. At the same time, Roman also reached out to Max’s Helping Paws for financial assistance to ensure Pinko would be able to have access to treatment. Living on a fixed income, Roman knew that while he would be able to contribute some to Pinko’s care, it may not be enough. Roman shared that without the treatment and diagnostics, Pinko may need to be put to sleep.
One of critical aspects of Max’s Helping Paws is to be the lifeline to treatments of pets in a health crisis. Without the assistance we are able to provide thanks to donors and partners such as AWAG, companions like Pinko would not have a second chance at life. Thanks to this support, Pinko was able to receive the diagnostic tests which enabled Roman to make responsible decisions about next steps in treatment. This family will now be able to remain together, as Pinko’s seizures will be managed with medication and care from his human family.
