We really need help our dog needs an emergency surgery and the corona virus is making our situation worse.
As a service dog providing comfort and emotional support, when Chico got sick, the impact was far reaching on the family. With a humble and hopeful heart, owner Gicela quickly reached out to Max’s Helping Paws to save Chico. “We really need help our dog needs an emergency surgery and the corona virus is making our situation worse. My dog is a service dog because I suffer from depression and anxiety. My dog Chico has been urinating blood and has become weak. We are applying for help because we are in a difficult situation. I am in process workers compensation and social security.”
“I was counting on the help of my daughter but she was laid off and is applying for unemployment.” With the financial assistance provided by Max’s Helping Paws and working with our veterinary partners the Pet Specialists of Monterey and the VCA All Pets, Chico was able to receive the needed treatment. The removal of a cyst blocking urinary function was completed with a successful surgery. Once returning home after post surgery, Chico is once again serving as a support animal to Gicela.
