Ella Enchanted

We’re a family of 3, my dogs and I.

— Michael —

As a mother of 3 and the sole provider for the household, Dina is someone who understands hard work and determination. Among many happy moments for the family at home, one of the highlights was 2 years ago when the family adopted a beautiful Siemese cat named Ella into their home.

Ella is allowed to roam in and outdoors, and early in October, took an extended time away from the household. When she returned, Dina noticed her hind legs looked injured and were causing her to limp. While she didn’t know what the problem was, she knew Ella needed to see a veterinarian to determine what was causing the limp. She told us, “She’s not walking right, her hind legs look hurt . She had gone missing and came back hurt. I’m a single mom and I can’t afford to take her in. I can’t see her hurt as she is and i don’t know what to do…please help.”

Thanks to our partners at AWAG, we were able to provide funding for the initial diagnostic for Ella in order to determine what the trouble was. These types of diagnostics can include xrays, medicines and other care that a companion may need as the veterinarian is determing the source of trouble. With this assistance, Ella was able to be seen by VCA All Pets which started her path of healing.
