Pearly Perilla

I’m doing my best to get back on my feet and Perilla needs help I can’t give her right now.

— Juan —

Blanket – check! Stuffed animal – check! Human – check! Life is pretty wonderful for this terrier mix named Perilla and her human. Living a simple life together with her human Juan, the two have been close ever since Juan brought Perilla home 2 years ago. She’s been such a special pup he would even like to breed her at some point so that her lineage continues.

In mid-February, this attentive owner noticed right away when Perilla didn’t seem to be her usual playful self. While Juan’s circumstances currently have him in a place of experiencing homelessness, he had no doubt about getting Perilla the help she needed right away. Juan shared his recent experience of being retired and suddenly put into financial hardships beyond his control, limiting his ability to get Perilla the help she needed. He shared what a sweet dog she is, and that he needed assistance in making sure her fever wasn’t something more dangerous for her.

With the Max’s Helping Paws Diagnostic program, this is exactly a type of situation we are able to provide quick assistance for. Perilla was able to be seen at VCA All Pets and receive medications to lower her fever and return back to Juan where he has been able to help her get the rest she needed to fully recover. We’re so grateful for owners such as Juan who make sure their pet companion has the proper care needed at all times, no matter the circumstances of life. Thank you Juan for being such a great ‘dog dad’!
