Stormii Clouds

I was able to put the rest of the initial $1,700 on my credit care, but I cannot pay any more.

— Laila —

The storm clouds of emotion came in fast at the end of July when this beautiful 11 year old German Shephard named Stormii began experiencing shortness of breath, coughing and lack of energy within a 45 minute window. Her owner Laila was quick to action in taking Stormii to the Pet Specialists of Monterey where she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Living on a fixed income, Laila was disheartened when the cost of care was estimated well beyond what she was able to provide. As a resourceful owner, Laila had already borrowed money from her daughter as well as used a credit care for the beginning stages of Stormii’s care. With additional treatment needed, Laila submitted an application for financial assistance to Max’s Helping Paws to ensure Stormii received the care needed. Laila shared, “I am on a fixed income and in order to not lose benefits, I cannot apply for another credit card. Stormii was fine in the morning but then all of a sudden she started having signs of coughing, wheezing and not being able to move. I love my dog and want the best for her. My daughter gave me $275 to help and I was able to put the rest of the initial $1,700 on my credit care, but I cannot pay any more. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.”

Thankfully Laila knew about Max’s Helping Paws from out veterinary partners and together, we were able to make sure Stormii was provided with quality treatments for her pneumonia and start her road back to health. One less cloud in the sky for this pup named Stormii.
